I don't see the knoll as dying, Chase, as it is entering a state of hibernation. The Knoll Blog (I believe) was designed so we could stay in touch and have a bullentin board... well, we stay in touch pretty well or our own and most of the announcements were game related... so I don't see the blog getting as much use as it might have in the past. As for Vampire...

1.) Adrienne doesn't exactly have the most super fun schedule as it is working 6 days a week (if i remember correctly), and when she's off (Im assuming Sunday) Lenny wouldnt be able to play.

2.) I think Lenny was well within his right to re-evaluate how his time was being used on Wednesdays after 6 weeks of no game... (Note: Two of those weeks Vampire was affected because of his trip to Hawaii... one he was in a Hawaii and the other we weren't sure if he was going to be jetlagged or not) ...granted he wasn't exactly diplomatic about how he announced his change of Wednesday plans and maybe he should have talked to you about it beforehand in private... but thats not the point.

3.) Several people in the group have been either been faced with a new relationship in their lives (Lenny and Carolyn) or faced with other problems at home (Cody), and such things often take precedent over what is 'just a game'. I don't think we ever intend to disrupt what we love doing... but sometimes life is just like that.

4.) I know some of us were either tired of Vampire or WOD and that by bringing up the possibility of terminating the game at that point may have ulitmately doomed it.

5.) I don't think a single one of use doesnt WANT to play, but we just don't have the time to all get together, like you said. It sucks, it really does. But this isn't the first game to die and I bet it won't be the last.

That all said and done, I had a wonderful time playing VTM and I'm glad I decided to give WOD another shot. I know we've discussed ideas for other games privately, and I would love to see how those develop. Regarding Mutants and Masterminds, I think I understand what I did wrong as a GM and would like to have a chance to run that with people again. I'm also currently reading the Eberron Campaign Sourcebook and discussing a possible game with my neighbor and a few others...

Alright, enough of my sermonizing. I'm going to go fuck some more shit up in Ninja Gaiden.

Well, it appears that the knoll blog is starting to...well...die. That makes me sad. But I guess everything must end. Still kinda sad though. So yeah, let me know if we're gonna be able to do Vampire this week because it's looking more and more like we're never even going to finish this chapter of it, which would have been nice. Not much I can do about it though, stupid schedules.

Unfortunately I have already made other arrangements on Wednesday. Since we haven't really done anything for the past 6 weeks, I made arrangements to run another game (which is already full) with different people that day. Frankly, I'm sick of wasting my time on something that has ceased to be any fun for me.
Ok, so here's the deal. On Wednesday my mom is going to a concert and my grandparents are going to Reno so I'm going to have to watch my sister. If Ostermiller's schedule and Brian's schedule permits we can play Vampire over at my house and finish the story for now. If there's a problem with that then I won't be playing anything this week.

We're gonna have to start a little later than that. Adrienne won't get home from work until around 5 she said today so between 6 and 7 would be a better start. But adrienne will be able to give more information once she gets home.

Oh, and I'll make food if we can play at Lenny's... MMmwwwwaaaahahahahaha!
Supers game tomorrow.

Nick will be getting me around noon so we can get him some gas, and then they'll be a brief interlude for food time before we'll be at Lenny's for the pre-game preperations. Chadrienne, 6 (...or 7) is when we'll start so you guys have time to get home and get changed. The time prior to game start will be used to make characters

Current Players projected for this session include...

Nick -CONFIRMED
(Nick's friend) Mike (?)
Chadrienne - Pretty Sure
Lenny -CONFIRMED
Cody (??)
Liam (??)

I don't get off work until 4, I think, on Wednesday and with how long it takes people to get moving and organized I don't think that will be enough time to play with Carolyn's schedule. Plus I don't know when or if Brian will be in Marysville or Sacto. So I don't think so.

So what's up with Vampire this week? Or Dragon Blooded? Can we play an early game this wednesday at Lennys or something?

Sunday, June 13, 2004

It has come to my attention that "everyone from Lenny to Chase, me (Neko) included, have really good idea's for characters." And that there is some second thoughts to the idea of random character generation/assignment...

Frankly, I don't care either way. If you guys would prefer to make you're own characterts, I'm totally cool with that as long as nobody is broken. It also makes it so everyone can play their characters, and no one will be unhappy with being given 'a bad character'... there's a belief that such a thing might occur within the group with random characters. And I agree, knowing our players I could see one of us being miffed about this sort of thing. So, if certain people REALLY want random characters, we can work with those individuals specifically... otherwise, design away!

*Joyous fanfare*

Rejoice everyone, for I have returned.

and no I'm not jet lagged so everyone can come on over and I'll tell you about the trip and distribute gifts.

And for the record it was fan-freaking-tatstic.

Monday, June 07, 2004

As far as Vampire, we're not going to be playing this week because Lenny will still probobly be jet lagged, but I'll shoot for next wednesday at Lenny's if that's ok. Of course that's if Ostermiller and Carolyn's work schedules permit, and Brian's new work schedule travel schedule to Grass Valley (or was it Marysville?). We'll see. As far as anything else is corcerned, i'm not sure. If anyone has any opinions about Vampire that they might want to share I'll still listen. But as it stands the game will close for a while at least at the close of this next session.

Thank you for the feedback Neko, and I'll think of something. As it stands I have never done anything Star Wars except played in your game that one time, so that's kinda out. Super Hero's is about the same except I haven't played it at all yet. I may consider Exalted again, and possibly a D&D, but we'll see. And just to check is there any WoD anyone would be interested in playing? I do favor the Lunar exalted and theit WoD cousins the shapechangers, so yeah. Umm...let me know. That wasn't very clear but I'm sure someone will decifer it.

Quack Quack Emu Sound
Game wise Chase, your an excelent GM. I'd love to once again be part of one of your games. ...but not vampire... I'm the anti-vampire. I was down for a while, a few years maybe, but now I can't stand it. So if you do continue, I'll remain on the bench. But as far as other games go, I'm sure there are a plethera of other options open to you that any of us would like to play. Becuase I'm in such a presumptious mood, I'll help out and list a few games I'd be interested in seeing you GM:
1.)Star Wars D20
While I kinda hold the monopoly on Star Wars at the moment, I...Would...LOVE!!!
To play for once... at least in a game where I can do some role playing.
2.)Exalted
What kind of exalted you ask? ANY KIND! A mixed group would be interesting, but
ANY incarnation would be exceptable.
3.)D&D
It's my life-blood. So sue me.
4.)Super hero games
John's got the market on that right now. But regardless, I am interested.
5.)D&D
Hehe, yeah, like ya do...
So ends that rant. On to other buiesness!!

Tuesday, Be a great escape at 5:30. Mortal game. Mo might be playing, an so may Jessica. I don't want to have to wait around, so make sure your characters are done. If you can't finish them for some weird reason, then be at GE earily so I can help you with it. -End transmision-

Sunday, June 06, 2004

ok, time for the ever present questions to some players of Vampire. Carolyn, it was said that you were probobly out even for the closing session of the chapter, is this true? There's one session left before the mystery is solved and if you're out I need to know so I can figure out when we can run it. ANd after that, is anyone interested in continueing Vampire since the AByssal?Solar is scrapped? And if not, is there anything, besides Exaleted, that anyone would like to suggest for a game.

I love running games, I really do, but not if my players aren't enjoying it, so let me know if you guys want to play something and I can work on it. Let me know if you want to continue Vampire. And most of all, let me know if the game is fun. So yeah, I guess that's it.

Schedule

Sun 730p-1130p
Mon 730p-1130p
Tues OFF (w00t!)
Wed 1230-9p
Thurs 1230-9p
Fri 530-1130p
Sat OFF
Okay, so the meeting went well. Neko got Septerra Core, Chadrienne got sleep (hopefully), and Halo with Drake Cody and Bwian rocks. Oh yeah, and I developed an awesome new multi player mode with their help. You guys have to play Doomball!

Anyways, on to the game notes:

Everyone makes at least one character, and then those sheets are randomly going to be assigned to other players, so we get the random factor but with some customized/original design. Setting will be determined once we know what kind of characters people have. Most likely it'll be the place presented in the M&M corebook but it'll have a different name other then 'Freedom' since Adrienne pointed out thats kinda dorky.

Just a reminded for people...

Pool Party/Game Meeting at John's Apartment at 1PM this afternoon. Swimming is optional, eating is recommended.

Friday, June 04, 2004

I'm sending this post to all of you from the royal kona resort in Kona, Hawaii. I can see the ocean from here and the view is as spectacular as the weather. Have fun melting in smoggy Sacramento everyone.

Thursday, June 03, 2004

Okay... new plan instead. My apartment. 1pm.

And regarding setting for the game... there's a vote for Moscow.
Subtle John, real subtle... Wait, if Carolyn can't make it to her house, then whats going on?

Wednesday, June 02, 2004

Regarding Nicks old Supers game... I would love for Nick to run Mutants and Masterminds, but he really REALLY REAALLY wants to play in a supers game. As for characters, we can discuss this on Saturday... thats kind of what I meant by themes and what people want to see in the game. Rest assured, I'm learning everytime I run a game, and will make sure we have characters that work well together.

john
Allright, things have been retarted for me the last couple days, but I think I'm back in the groove. There WILL be game tuesday. Period. This week we can talk about where, although I think Great Escape will win out. allright, talk at you later.

Tuesday, June 01, 2004

Okay... so with Chase terminating Solar/Abyssal and a lack of interest in the current V:TM game...

I'm calling for a meeting at Carolyn's @ 1pm this Saturday.

I have an idea for a new game that is neither Exalted nor WoD based... and that would be Mutants & Masterminds. Now I know Chase has voiced a rather lack of interest in Super Heroes in the past... but I really think this is worth a shot. I would like to make it modular so people can come and go, and Nick has given the game his stamp of approval. As for exact setting, I'll leave that up to discussion. My intial choice is to use the provided setting, which is neither DC nor Marvel but a really cool world of its own with a unique flavor. But I think we should talk about what we do and don't want to see.

So yeah. Carolyn's house. Saturday. 1pm.

john
This is the part where I make some people sad. I am cancelling Abyssal/Solars. There aren't enough players. Sorry, if you want to keep your charaters I may restart it at a later date, otherwise, yeah. On another note F sharp.

Quack Quack Emu Sound
Ok, I have a dentist apointment today at 2, but I'll call the regulars to see if we want to hang out.
Anyone trying to reach me would do well to call Carolyn's house. That's where I live now. Mind you, don't call the number for Carolyn's room, but the one for the main house. Anyone who needs that number can e-mail me.

I will likely be out of town starting later today or Wednesday. Gotta get up to speed on my new job, drafting for my Dad. My upcoming schedule could be just about anything.
